Administered by ETS, the TOEFL Israel is used by English-speaking programs to assess English proficiency (examinee’s ability to communicate and comprehend English in written and spoken form). Oftentimes, the exam is required along with other standardized tests, such as the SAT, GRE and GMAT. The test is offered in Israel every ten days; Yeda Plus centers in Ramat Gan and Haifa also administer the exam on Saturdays.

TOEFL Israel Exam Structure

The four-hour-long TOEFL Israel exam is comprised of four sections, with a maximum score of 120. The test is computerized.

Reading (30 points) –reading academic passages in English and answering multiple-choice questions of varying difficulty based on information provided in the passage

Listening (30 points) –listening to a short semi-academic conversation/lecture and answering multiple-choice questions; headphones are provided

Speaking (30 points) – speaking about a familiar topic (independent) and about a topic covered in a passage and listening assignment (integrated); microphone is provided

Writing (30 points) – writing a short essay about a familiar topic (independent) and about a topic covered in a short passage (integrated).

How does the TOEFL course in Yeda Plus work?

The comprehensive core course of the TOEFL Israel exam includes 32 frontal study hours in small classes. In each lesson we practice speaking skills in addition to learning new topics and repeating previous material. Students receive weekly homework, which creates a highly effective learning framework. Each student may repeat the course for an entire year without limitation to ensure they have received the required grade. All students send the course instructor unlimited essays weekly, which are sent back with comments and a grade.

Where in Israel is the TOEFL test course taught by Yeda Plus?

Yeda Plus TOEFL iBT test courses are taught in Ramat Gan as well as on Zoom, and open every other month.
Do you accept the Pikadon for the TOEFL test?

Yes, Yeda Plus accepts the “Pikadon” funds from Army or “Sherut Leumi” service. You can use this to pay for your courses.

What is the status of the TOEFL PBT exam in Israel?

There will be PBT TOEFL test administrations in Israel during the months of August, October and November 2007 while the iBT test schedule continues to operate. The dates will be on either the Friday before or Sunday after the published TOEFL paper-based administration dates.
Can the new TOEFL ibt test be done at home, over the internet?

No, the internet based test must be taken is a specified testing location. The reason the test is called the TOEFL ibt is that this is the delivery system being adopted by the ETS in order to be able to open additional TOEFL exam testing locations.
Where can I take the TOEFL ibt test in Israel?

You may take the TOEFL ibt in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. The TOEFL ibt is the “new” version of the TOEFL test. It is still taken at a testing center, and done on a computer.
There is a new grade scale for the TOEFL ibt.

Can the TOEFL IBT test be taken at home on the computer?

No, the IBT (TOEFL internet based test) refers to the way the test is delivered to the testing location, and not that it may be taken over any internet connection.
This is being done tso that it will be possible to offer the TOEFL test in more locations in Israel and throughout the world.
Does Yeda Plus offer the TOEFL test course in Tel Aviv?

Yes, Yeda Plus has classes and private tutoring for the TOEFL test in Tel Aviv.

Do you prepare students for the Wexner Graduate Fellowship? What TOEFL score is required?

Yes, Yeda Plus has experience in preparing students for the TOEFL exam which is required for the Wexner Fellowship. We can also assist you in writing your Statement of Purpose Essay. A TOEFL score of 250 and an essay score of 5 is required.
Can Yeda Plus help me in applying for extended time for disabilities for the SAT test, the GRE test and the TOEFL test?

Yes, Yeda Plus counselors can assist test takers in filling out the required forms from the ETS (GRE and TOEFL) and the College Board (SAT) and in obtaining the necessary documentation and translations.
Yeda Plus works closely with an American trained Ph.D Psychologist in preparing materials required in applying for accommodations (i.e. extra time and other assistance such as readers and writers). There is a fee for these services from Yeda Plus. More details at www.yedaplus.co.il
How can I compare Paper based TOEFL test scores to Computer based TOEFL test scores to TOEFL iBT test scores?

For how many years is the TOEFL exam valid?

Where is the TOEFL exam given in Israel?

The TOEFL test is now being offered in Tel Aviv, Herzliya and Haifa. TOEFL iBT TEST. The test is administered every Monday morning at 8:00 am and 12:00 pm.
